Course Description: The brain is the seat of intelligence, interpreter of the senses, controller of behavior, and our humanity. Recently, we began to understand how the brain works or does not work, in health and disease. In this course, students will work in pairs or in small groups to choose the topic, research, and give a presentation regarding the human brain. Students will evaluate each other's presentations and select the best presentation at the end of the course. This course will be given entirely in English. |

Course objectives: Students will obtain basic information regarding brain functions by reading articles and developing critical thinking skills by following group discussions. Group research and presentation and evaluation of the presentation by other groups will help students develop collaboration skills, presentation, and give constructive feedback to others. |

授業外学習 |
Out-of-class activity requirement: Homeworks will include reading articles and writing short reports. Research outside of class will also be required.

成績評価方法 |
Grade: Active participation to the class and presentations. With regular participation and presentations, 4 points will be given. Additional points may be given depending on exceptional class participation and presentation. |
